When Lizzy neared the entrance, she saw that the place was in shambles. The body stuck on the glass door that she had seen earlier was not alone. She saw three other bodies, all naked. A pair of them were lying together in missionary position, with the woman’s legs flopped over the man’s calves. Lizzy saw that their feet and hands were swollen in the tell-tale signs of infection. The third body was slumped against a support pole and wore the remnants of a shredded security uniform. His features looked normal, and a small part of Lizzy’s mind wondered what had happened to the man as she ran past him into the mall. She ran down the wide hallway, hearing breaking glass behind her as her pursuers entered the building. In a panic, she shed her backpack and ran blindly into the dim space lit only by emergency lighting.
